Okay, so I decided to take Friday off instead of Thursday, which was my birthday. I headed down to Huntington Beach hoping to get some sunset pics. It was too overcast, so I shot under the pier, and some surfing. Here are just a few of the shots I took. You can see some others at http://glasshouseimages.smugmug.com/.

Photo Shoots with Andrea

These are just a few of the shots from my two photo shoots with Andrea. She was so gracious and patient with me as I am trying to get back into shooting portraits again. Been a lot of years. Most of my shooting in the last few years has been sports photography, so it is a change. In sports photography, you just have to capture the moment as the athletes go though their regular routines. I don't have to direct the shot, just capture it!

Working with Andrea has been a real pleasure. Like I said, she has been real patient with me a I try to get back into the routine of communicating with her the vision I see in my mind's eye and directing her to achieve it. The ability to put the model at ease by building trust and a rapport is definitely where I need the work. I can get the shot technically, but right now it is just not second nature to direct my model with ease. As you can see, she is a real doll and easy on the eyes. Thank you Andrea!

Midway Motion

Went to Indio Date Festival to try to re-create show shots I did years ago on film. Had a blast with old and new ideas.

"Defined By Scars"

Defined By Scars is my son's band (he's the drummer). They headlined a show Saturday night at Mirror Image Studios in Anaheim. It was a rockin' show! Great turnout, too. Along with the 3 other bands, Ironklad, Hope Unseen, and Beseech the Omen, DBS put on a killer show. If you would like to hear some of their music, go to http://www.myspace.com/definedbyscars.

I want to throw a shoutout for Mirror Image Studios. What an awesome place! It is, as its name implies, a recording studio, but they have built a stage and have a showcase area. They have some of the best sound and lights that I have seen in the smaller venues like this. They are professional in every sense of the word and really bring out the best in every band. Every band that plays there gets a live cd and a live video dvd. They also are partners with Aiiradio, and broadcast the shows live on the internet across the globe. They did that for DBS, and we found out that 9600 people viewed the show live. Cool, huh? One of the band members, who is from Massachusetts, had family and friends viewing at his parent's house in Springfield, Mass. First time they had seen him live with his new band!
